Often today the words Leadership and Management are used with the same implied meaning. Is it really the same thing? Is a good manager a good leader, or vice versa? It is important to know the difference.

Reason no 2: Becoming a Manager is a promotion from your superiors, becoming a Leader is a selection by your subordinates. Make sure you understand the difference
Reason no 3: Management could be appropriate in a static world, where the key is efficiency and effectiveness. Leadership is necessary in an ever-changing environment, where quick adjustment to new rules is of greatest importance
Reason no 4: A Manager is explaining, a Leader shows the way. The leader clearly knows where to go, and his or her enthusiasm shows in a way that people want to follow
Reason no 5: Leadership is about understanding human relations, building and taking care of contacts. A Leader is well-known, also outside his or her core team.
